Welcome!
Misty May, with my big friend Smoky Jo
Misty May, with my big friend Smoky Jo

Hi, I'm glad you found my site.  You may use this site as a guide as you develop your own e-folio.  It really isn't that difficult, and I encourage you to give it a try.  If you look closely at the guidelines for organizing a portfolio in the Child Development Program at HTC, you will see that the headings are the same.  It's just all electronic rather than a lot of paper.

Think of the advantages: potential employers can review specific items of interest, there is no bulky three ring binder, and you can provide multiple prospective employers access to your portfolio at the same time.  It really simplifies things, and is another option for you as you progress in the program.

I didn't pay anything for this website: it is free to every Minnesota citizen.  I stayed within the limits for space.  If you want to add more pictures, or audio, you may purchase more space for a small amount.  The link to the E-Folio site is here to help you get started.  Be sure to click on my Welcome Message  below to hear an introduction to the site.

The following attachment is my basic philosophy.  The other attachment is a reflection piece on how the portfolio process helped me realize what I learned at HTC,  Also, all the artifacts included in my e-folio document that I have met the HTC Child Development Award Outcomes, as well as the HTC Learner Outcomes.  See the attachment to see how the assignments align with them.

Just a warning though...this site was designed to be a sample, so sometimes when you open up the links, there won't be actual assignments there, but just examples of what an assignment might look like, and where it could be placed.  One last tip?  As you begin to design your own, you may want to choose the option that ISN'T the template, because you will have an easier time changing the names of the categories if you like.
